Subscribe because you are interested in contrary points of view, or at least my contrarian point of view. I post columns I have written, my weekly Friday Wrap, and other written and photographed items when I can.
It’s suggested here that I pitch that you want to stay up-to-date, and of course you do. But it’s because you want to, and are interested in what I may have to write about.
Who is this guy?
I am a journalist with a weekly newspaper in Eastern Ontario, a columnist, a photographer, and that’s just the professional side. On the non-professional side, I am a husband, parent, soccer coach, volunteer, model train enthusiast, history buff, and sometimes a sarcastic know-it-all.
For a long time I’ve been struck by this line from a J.R.R. Tolkien poem, “Not all who wander are lost.” That fits me in so many ways. When I changed the name of my personal blog site about seven years ago, toning down from the angsty/mouthy me, this fit. I wander in my thought process, interests, and activities in many ways. My columns usually start at Point A and end up in Point B through points C, D, and H.
